  1. WHY BOURNEMOUTH ?
    Bournemouth is safer, cleaner, greener, cheaper and friendlier than London! You can always go to London for the weekend but when you are there you always want to come back to Bournemouth!!!!   3. HOW CAN I ENROL AT SNT FROM MY OWN COUNTRY?
    Via an SNT agent in your country or directly with us.The minimum age for enrolment is 16 years.

  4. IF I PAY THE SCHOOL DIRECTLY TO SNT INSTEAD OF GOING TO AN AGENT DO I PAY LESS FOR MY COURSE?
    No you don't. The price is the same for all students coming from abroad.

  5. HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY ENGLISH COURSE?
    Bank Transfer-We will send you an invoice with our bank details. Students / Agents are responsible for paying for all bank transfer charges.

  6. IF MY VISA IS REFUSED DO I GET MY MONEY BACK? AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
    Yes, you do. Except the registration fee which is £55 and the Administrion fee of £55. Student or agent MUST send the refusal letter or immigration / British Embassy will be advised. You must post back the refusal letter and the original school letter no later than 4 weeks from the starting date of your course.

  7. What is the currency in England and where can I change my money?
    It sterling pounds. If you bring American dollars you can exchange to in Bournemouth centre and not far from the school.

  8. CAN SOMEONE MEET ME AT THE AIRPORT AND TAKE ME TO MY ACCOMMODATION IN BOURNEMOUTH?
    Yes. We can arrange for a private driver to collect you. This service costs £110 from Heathrow.

    You must send us your date of arrival, flight number , time of arrival and terminal number.

  9. IF A LOSE MY LUGGAGE, WHAT DO I DO?
    Students must get this information and the phone number to call from their travel agency where they bought their ticket from.

  10. IF MY FLIGHT HAS BEEN DELAYED AND I HAVE BOOKED A TAXI?WILL THE DRIVER BE WAITING FOR ME?
    When SNT knows the date of your arrival you will be sent the accommodation details 3 days or sooner before your arrival date. The driver and the family phone number will be on this information. The student MUST advise the driver and the family of any delays. Driver charges £20 per hour for waiting time if not been advised long in advance.

  11. IF I WANT TO COME BY MYSELF TO BOURNEMOUTH....HOW CAN I GET THERE?
    You can take the coach NATIONAL EXPRESS at the airport to Bournemouth every other hour and it will cost you £20.00 (one way). Once you are in Bournemouth you can take a taxi to your accommodation address.(£5)

  12. WHAT IS IT LIKE TO LIVE IN A BRITISH HOST FAMILY?
    It is a great way to improve your English and you will NOT find other student at the same nationality will be living at the same house.

  13. HOW CAN MY PARENTS CONTACT ME IN ENGLAND?
    The can call the family but make sure they do not call after 9.00p.m( time in the U.K) or you can make a collect call or buy a phone card from a Internet Cafe(It costs £5 and you can talk for more than 1 hour).
    Ask your family for permission to use the phone before you do so.

  14. WHAT IS THE BRITISH FOOD LIKE? CAN I EAT AS MUCH AS I WANT AND AT ANYTIME?
    The English food is not only potatoe as many people think....but it is also offered vegetables and meat.
    Usually English families offer a ready meal served in a plate for each student. Each family has the correct time for breakfast and dinner and students cannot eat at anytime they wish.
    Only Breakfast and Dinner is offered for half board option( 2 meals a day)

  15. HOW CAN I GO FROM MY ACCOMMODATION TO SNT COLLEGE ?
    You can walk(if not far) or go by bus. You can buy a return bus ticket for less money( ask the bus driver).
    Once you buy a bike you will save money on transport. Second hand bikes cost from £40.

  16. IF I BOOK 4 WEEKS ACCOMMODATION AT THE HOST FAMILY BUT DECIDE TO STAY LONGER WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
    You must inform reception.

  17. IF I DECIDE TO LEAVE MY ACCOMMODATION EARLIER TO LIVE WITH MY FRIENDS or IF I ARRIVE LATER, DO I GET ANY REFUND?
    No, you don't. The accommodation is booked for the time and dates that student/agent has first advised SNT.

  18. CAN I CHANGE MY ACCOMMODATION IF I DON'T LIKE IT?
    We will automatically change the accommodation if there is a real problem.All families are inspected before we send any students to their home. If you have a real problem you must advise the Accommodation Officer as soon as possible.

  19. WHAT TIME DO I HAVE TO BE AT THE COLLEGE ON MY FIRST DAY AND SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?
    You need to be at SNT at 9.00a.m and you will have a Placement TEST(Written and Oral ) to check your level of English with our Director of Studies. An induction( explanation about the school and rules) with the Accommodation Officer and a Mini Tour of Bournemouth Center with one of the staff from the reception.

    You need to bring: Your passport, 2 photos(3x4) and your school letter.

  20. WHAT DOES IT MEAN: REGISTER WITH THE POLICE ON ARRIVAL?
    If you need to be registered with the police( it should be written on your visa) we will take you to the FOREIGN OFFICE (BRING 2 PHOTOS 3x4) and £34 for the registration fee with the police.
    Most nationalities they must register with the police if they come to study in the U.K for more than 6 months.

  21. AT WHAT TIME OF DAY ARE MY CLASSES ?
    FULL TIME COURSES:
    SESSION 1 SESSION 2 SESSION 3
    From 8:20am to 11:30pm From 11:35am to 2:45pm   From 2:50pm to 6:00pm
    10 minute break from 9:50am to 10:00am 10 minute break from 1:05pm to 1:15pm 10 minute break from 4:20pm to 4:30pm

    Classes can not guarantee to be in the morning or afternoon. It depends on your level of English and number of students in class.

  22. WHAT IS THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN CLASSROOM?
    ROOMS VARY IN SIZE FROM 14 TO 24 STUDENTS PER CLASS.

  23. CAN I OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT IN ENGLAND?
    Yes, if you are studying for more than 6 months in the U.K
    If you are looking for a part-time job you will need to open a bank account! You will need a school letter to show at the bank and it costs £1.50

  24. CAN I WORK IN THE U.K?
    Only if you have the student visa. To apply for the student visa you must study for more than 6 months.

  25. IS IT EASY TO FIND A JOB IN BOURNEMOUTH?
    If your level of English is low intermediate or higher, it is easier! You will need to bring a CV in English with you. Most students find a job in less than 8 weeks. On your arrival you need to buy: a mobile (From £40) to have a contact number for your employer to contact you and a second hand bike (From £40) to travel to work and to college. SAVES YOU TRANSPORT MONEY!

  26. HOW MUCH CAN I EARN PER HOUR AND WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS MONEY?
    About £5 per hour. Working 10 hours per week you buy your food and pay for one excursion at the weekend or pay for your  weekly accommodation( self catering).

  27. DO I NEED TO BRING A CV IN ENGLISH TO LOOK FOR A JOB?
    Yes. Just a basic one(one page). We will supply the references.

  28. WHAT KIND OF JOB CAN I HAVE AND HOW MANY HOURS CAN I WORK?
    It depends on your English the kind of job you might find. You can work 10 hours per week if you have the student visa.
    Elementary to Pre-Intermediate: Cleaner , glass collector or Kitchen porter in a hotel or restaurant.
    Intermediate or above: Waiter, Chamber maid, Bar attendant or reception work.

  29. ARE THERE MANY NATIONALITIES AT SNT?
    We have BRAZILIANS, COLOMBIANS, SPANISH, ITALIANS, LIBYANS, KOREANS, RUSSIANS, SPANISH, SAUDI ARABIANS, TURKISH and many more! Every nationality is welcome and they MUST ALL SPEAK ENGLISH AT SNT!

  30. DO I NEED HEALTH INSURANCE?
    YES! Please take HEALTH INSURANCE from your own country.

  31. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST A VISIT TO THE DOCTORS OR DENTIST?
    From £35 and you should register with a local doctor on your arrival. The reception can give the address of your local doctor.

  32. HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I NEED PER WEEK for my weekly expenses?
    Bournemouth is not as expensive as London!If you get a bike you will NOT need to spend money on transport.

    We think the best value SUPERMARKETS are ASDA or LIDL! You will spend about £20 per week on fresh groceries, meat, bread, milk,etc

    Cheaper option of accommodation(self catering) from £50 per week(twin room/ free use of Kitchen/ no meals included) sharing a home with another students is advertised on papers/ shop windows.
    SNT advise all students to stay as long as they can with their Host Families so they can practise English with English native speakers and learn more about the English culture.

  34. IF I WANT TO BRING MY LAPTOP WHAT IS VOLTAGE IN ENGLAND?
    British Voltage is 240v. Remember that U.K plugs have three pins but you can buy an adaptor plug at most airports or any electrical shop in Bournemouth

  35. DOES SNT OFFER EXCURSIONS TO STUDENTS?
    SNT Interntional College works with different local private companies who arrange excursions during the weekends. More information at reception and they cost from £25 to London, Cambridge, Paris,etc...All excursions are in a executive coach and with a guide.

  36. WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN ENGLAND?
    The hottest months are June ,July and August( 28C to 35C)
    The coldest months are January, February and March ( 6 C to 10 C)

  37. DO I NEED VISA TO GO TO ANOTHER COUNTRIES IN EUROPE?
    It depends on your nationality. Please ask your agent and if you do and it is easier and cheaper to get from your own country.

  38. HOW MANY LEVELS DOES SNT OFFER?
    1. BEGINNER
    2. ELEMENTARY
    3. PRE-INTERMEDIATE
    4. INTERMEDIATE
    5. UPPER-INTERMEDIATE
    6. PRE-ADVANCED
    7. ADVANCED

    And our exam classes include: FIRST CERTIFICATE(FCE), Advanced (CAE), IELTS AND BEC(BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATE).

  39. Books are not included in the registration fee, so how much do they cost and where to I buy them?
    Students use 2 books per level. Each cost about £20. Students can buy their books at the local bookshop in the town centre.

  40. HOW LONG DO I USE THE BOOKS FOR AND HOW I STUDY EACH LEVEL?
    For 12 weeks( 3 months)

  41. DO CLASSES START EVERY MONDAY?
    No. Students can join classes every Monday except on Public Holiday and during Easter, late Summer or Christmas holidays.
    It is not advisable for students who are completelly beginners to start their course any Monday .Please check starting dates for beginner levels before enrolment

  42. CAN I TAKE ANY HOLIDAYS DURING MY COURSE AND IF YES, FOR HOW LONG?
    To take any holidays and replace your classes you can if you have enrolled for:
    12 WEEKS OR MORE: 2 weeks holidays
    24 WEEKS OR MORE: 4 weeks holidays

  43. ARE ALL THE TEACHERS QUALIFIED?
    Yes, they are.

  44. IS SNT ACCREDITED BY THE BRITISH COUNCIL?
    Yes, it is.

  45. IF I HAVE TO GO HOME EARLIER , CAN I TAKE AN INTENSIVE COURSE TO FINISH MY COURSE FASTER?
    Yes, you can but you need to pay an extra fee.

  46. IF I HAVE TO GO HOME EARLIER AND WANT TO CANCEL MY COURSE, DO I GET SOME OF MY MONEY BACK?
    No, you don't. It is your personal decision to change your mind. SNT strongly advise students to take a HEALTH AND PERSONAL INSURANCE in case of illness or personal reasons that may occur during their staying in the U.K

  47. WHAT ARE YOUR POLICIES FOR COURSE, AIRPORT TRANSFER AND ACCOMMODATION CANCELLATION?

    For courses:
    Cancellation Notice Period before start course
    4 weeks 50%
    Less than 4 weeks nil
    After the student has started the course nil
     

    For accommodation CANCELLATION arranged by SNT College
    • Valid only for the person and dates specified
    • Non-refundable if the student arrives late or leaves early, not reduced for accommodation for part of a week
    • Accommodation must be canceled 72 hours before the student arrival with the new full address of the student or no-refund will be given. Accommodation booking fee is non-refundable.

    For airport transfer:
    Once we have sent you the driver booking confirmation if you wish to cancel it must be done 72 hours(3 days) before the pick day or the student/agent still be charged.

  48. DOES SNT OFFER ANY TRAVEL HEALTH and CANCELLATION INSURANCE?
    No we don't. Please arrange travel health and cancellation insurance from your own country before your departure.

  49. WILL I GET A SNT CERTIFICATE AT THE END OF MY COURSE?
    If you complete our course and have good attendance( at least 80%) you will receive a certificate from the college.

  50. HOW CAN MY PARENTS SEND ME MONEY TO ENGLAND?
    By Western Union or Money Gram.
