Currency is pounds sterling. If you bring American dollars you can exchange them in Bournemouth town centre, not far from the school.

You must send us your date of arrival, flight number , time of arrival and terminal number before we are able to book an airport transfer. Please ask at time of enrolment.
IF I LOSE MY LUGGAGE, WHAT DO I DO?
Students must get the information and the phone number to call from their travel agency where they bought their ticket from.
IF MY FLIGHT HAS BEEN DELAYED AND I HAVE BOOKED A TAXI, WILL THE DRIVER BE WAITING FOR ME?
When SNT knows the date of your arrival you will be sent the accommodation details 3 days or sooner before your arrival date. The driver and the homestay phone number will be on this information. The student MUST advise the driver and the homestay provider of any delays. The driver will wait up to 60 minutes without charge. Driver charges £20 per hour for waiting time if not been advised long in advance.
IF I WANT TO COME BY MYSELF TO BOURNEMOUTH, HOW CAN I GET THERE?
You can take the NATIONAL EXPRESS coach from the airport to Bournemouth every other hour and it will cost you from £20.00 (one way). Once you are in Bournemouth you can take a taxi to your accommodation address.(from £5)
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO LIVE IN A BRITISH HOMESTAY?
It is a great way to improve your English and you will NOT find a student who speaks the same language as you living in the same homestay unless you have requested it.
HOW CAN MY PARENTS CONTACT ME IN ENGLAND?
They can call the homestay, but must not call after 9.00p.m (U.K time). You can also make a collect call or buy a phone card from an Internet Cafe (It costs £5 and you can talk for more than 1 hour). Ask your homestay provider for permission to use the phone before you do so.If you wish you can purchase a sim card once you are in the UK to use in your own phone.
WHAT IS THE BRITISH FOOD LIKE?
The English food is not just potatoes as many people think! There are a wide variety of different meals.
Usually English families offer a prepared meal served on a single plate for each student. Each homestay provider has a set time for breakfast and dinner and students cannot eat at anytime they wish.
Only Breakfast and Dinner is offered for half board option (2 meals a day)
HOW CAN I GO FROM MY ACCOMMODATION TO SNT COLLEGE?
You can travel by bus or bike or if you are close to the school you could walk. You can buy a return bus ticket for less money (ask the bus driver), Ask reception for more information about bus times and passes. If you buy a bike, you will save money on transport. Second hand bikes cost from £50.
IF I BOOK 4 WEEKS ACCOMMODATION AT THE HOMESTAY BUT DECIDE TO STAY LONGER, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
You can arrange this yourself with your homestay provider or come to the Accommodation office and speak to a member of staff. You must always inform reception of any changes to your accommodation.
IF I DECIDE TO LEAVE MY ACCOMMODATION EARLIER TO LIVE WITH MY FRIENDS OR IF I ARRIVE LATE, DO I GET ANY REFUND?
Homestay accommodation booking subject to term breaks and holiday taken. Accommodation booked for 4 weeks or less is non-refundable. Cancellation of accommodation of 5 weeks or more is subject to a £100 non-refundable fee. One week notice required for cancellations.
CAN I CHANGE MY ACCOMMODATION IF I DON'T LIKE IT?
We will automatically change the accommodation only if there is a real problem. All families are inspected before we send any students to their home. If you have a real problem you must advise the Accommodation Officer as soon as possible. If you wish to change accommodation for another reason there will be a charge of £55 (subject to availability).
WHAT TIME DO I HAVE TO BE AT THE COLLEGE ON MY FIRST DAY AND WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?
You need to be at SNT at 9.00a.m on Monday morning. You will take a placement test (Written and Oral) to check your level of English with our Academic Coordinator. An induction (explanation about the school and rules) with the Welfare Officer, and a Mini Tour of Bournemouth Town Centre with a member of staff from reception.
You will need to bring: Your passport, 2 passport photos and your confirmation letter from SNT.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN: REGISTER WITH THE POLICE ON ARRIVAL?
If you need to be registered with the police it should be written on your visa. You can ask at reception where you need to go to register with the police. Most nationalities must register with the police if they come to study in the U.K for more than 6 months.

WHAT IS THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN A CLASSROOM?
At SNT we have a maximum number of 24 students per classroom. Other classrooms will have a maximum of 16. We have big and very comfortable classrooms with air con and heaters.
CAN I OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT IN ENGLAND?
Yes, if you are studying for more than 6 months in the U.K If you are looking for a part-time job you will need to open a bank account. You will need a school letter to show at the bank and it costs £1.
CAN I WORK IN THE U.K?
Only if you are a European Citizen. Other nationalies are no longer granted work rights either with a Tier 4 visa or student visitor visa.
DO I NEED TO BRING A CV IN ENGLISH TO LOOK FOR A JOB?
Yes. Just a basic one(one page). We will supply the references and check your CV for you.
WHAT KIND OF JOB CAN I HAVE AND HOW MANY HOURS CAN I WORK?
It depends on your level of English the kind of job you might find. You can work 10 hours per week if you have the Tier 4 student visa.
ARE THERE MANY NATIONALITIES AT SNT?
We have students from BRAZIL, COLOMBIA, SPAIN, ITALY, LIBYA, KOREA, VENEZUELA, RUSSIA, SAUDI ARABIA, PAKISTAN, TURKEY, THAILAND and many more! Every nationality is welcome and they MUST ALL SPEAK ENGLISH AT SNT!
DO I NEED HEALTH INSURANCE TO STUDY IN THE UK?
We strongly advise you to obtain health insurance before your arrival either through SNT or privately yourself.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO VISIT A DOCTOR OR DENTIST?
From £35 and you should register with a local doctor on your arrival. The accommodation officer can give the address of your local doctor.
HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I NEED FOR MY WEEKLY EXPENSES?
Bournemouth is not as expensive as London! If you get a bike you will NOT need to spend money on transport. We think the best value SUPERMARKETS are ASDA or LIDL! You will spend about £20 per week on fresh groceries, meat, bread, milk,etc.
Cheaper option of accommodation (self catering) from £50 per week(twin room/ free use of Kitchen/ no meals included) sharing a home with another students is advertised in newspapers/shop windows. SNT advises all students to stay as long as they can with a homestay provider so they can practice English with native English speakers and learn more about the English culture.

British Voltage is 240v. Remember that U.K plugs have three pins but you can buy an adaptor plug at most airports or any electrical shop in Bournemouth.
DOES SNT OFFER EXCURSIONS TO STUDENTS?
SNT offers excursions every month arranged by the school to exciting destinations such as Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge. The cost is £25 per person and there are a limited number of spaces available. A member of staff also accompanies the group. SNT Interntional College also works with different local private companies who arrange excursions at the weekends. More information can be found at reception. They cost from £25 to London, Cambridge, Paris,etc. All excursions are in an executive coach and with a guide.

The hottest months are June ,July and August(average 24C to 32C)

DO I NEED A NEW VISA TO GO TO OTHER COUNTRIES IN EUROPE?
It depends on your nationality. Please ask your agent and if you do and it is easier and cheaper to get from your own country.

Students can join a course at any time except for students at Beginner level English. Classes for Beginner level start only on the first and second Mondays of each term. For 2011 these dates are as follows:

Yes, they are. All our teachers are at least CELTA qualified.

For accommodation CANCELLATION arranged by SNT International College
1. Minimum stay 2 weeks
2. Valid only for the person and dates specified
3. No more than 2 students will be accommodated in the same bedroom.
4. Non-refundable if the student arrives late or leaves early, not reduced for accommodation for part of a week
4. Students with the same first language will not be lodged in the same home at the same time (unless written consent of the student or their agents on behalf of their parents or legal guardians is obtained in advance or arrival)
5.If a male and a female student wish to share the same room they must be married. A certificate of marriage may be requested.
6.Accommodation must be cancelled 72 hours before the student arrival with the new full address of the student or no-refund will be given. The accommodation booking fee is non-refundable.
For airport transfer:
Once we have sent you the driver booking confirmation, if you wish to cancel it must be done 72 hours(3 days) before the pick up day or the student/agent still be charged.
