British Council Accreditation

Accreditation UK, run by the British Council and English UK, is the quality assurance scheme for the UK English Language Teaching sector. It monitors and improves standards of management, teaching, resources and welfare in organisations teaching English as a Foreign Language in Britain.

Accreditation UK makes sure English Language Institutions keep the following requirements:

• Appropriately qualified teachers
• High teaching standards
• Regularly inspected accommodation
• 24 hour supervision of juniors
• Safe premises with properly equipped classrooms and relaxation areas
• Brochures and publicity materials which accurately reflect what is provided
• Proper emergency procedures, known to staff and students

English UK Accreditation

English UK is the national association of accredited English language centres. The members are accredited by the British Council under the Accreditation UK Scheme. The scheme is run by English UK in partnership with the British Council.
